Welcome to GrungeReport.net.  I thought I’d post the “About” section as a story here on the site so everybody can see the meaning behind the site and not piss and moan about the term “Grunge” being used to define certain bands.

I know a lot of people think the term “Grunge” is exclusive to just Seattle bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, The Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, and Soundgarden (even some of those bands hate the term Grunge) and many might be pissed off we’re covering other bands too and grouping them all together as “Grunge” but I basically wanted to create a site that covers news on the bands that got big in the early 90s and revolutionized rock music in that decade.  This is why we are also covering Stone Temple Pilots and The Smashing Pumpkins, they may not exactly be Seattle “Grunge” but they were amazing bands that came out around the same time as the big Seattle sound and had the same soul and agression in their music.  I would have preferred to use the domain GenXMusic.com but sadly it was taken.  A lot of people are fans of all of these bands and I thought it would be nice to have a website to go to to keep up on news on the early 90s rock bands/musicians that are still active without having to see news on shitty bands like Linkin Park  and Coldplay.
