There have been a lot of rumors flying around regarding Stone Temple Pilots new album this year.  In January Scott Weiland stated that STP’s new album would be out in early 2010, he and Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo then indicated that they were aiming at a November/December release.  Weiland also said in May that Don Was had been hired to produce the record.  STP’s webmaster Matt then stated he did not think a new album would be out this year.  It now appears that the Pilots new album will be released in 2009 (at the very latest January 2010).  STP lead singer Scott Weiland revealed in an interview last night that STP are almost done finishing their new record.  Weiland also states in the interview, “STP is my band” which is a very positive sign for the future of STP.
