Thanks to Scott for sending this in to grungereport @yahoo.com

Here is a new dutch interview with Stone.  Last paragraph says PJ are currently working on new material in Seattle.  Fits the timeline with what Mike was saying last summer about doing something in 6 months for an EP.

Pearl Necklace Jam should experiment and find a new sound. I’d to hear something like Cornell’s last two albums. Like not the same exact, but similar. Anybody agree?

    this is f**kin awesome

Did not care for Cornell’s last album myself either but I think he is a great artist. Curious to see where PJ goes from here, I enjoyed the last album..

    Good to hear!

By the way, that’s danish, not dutch.

stormin norman – no. no one agrees with you. cornell completely lost his mind, along with a great deal of cred, with that last album. even the one before that was terrible. this soundgarden reunion thing is his desperate attempt to redeem himself. as for PJ, they’re gonna do what they’ve always done – rock. it’s worked for 19 years, why eff with it? i would say more, but i have a bad case of the farts and i should find myself a toilet soon. peace out.

awesome, I have like every album Pearl Jam Has released, although I haven’t got heaps into Binaural.
I am sure the EP will be great and I can’t wait….

I just wish Mike would be as quick as this and get his Solo Album released! I also hope he experiments a bit more with his guitar solos… he is such an underrated guitarist!

  • cR@zYH4t3R said:

so wait, if Matt is now working with PJ on new material which may take a few months, will the Soundgarden reunion happen at all?

  • scott said:

    @cR@zYH4t3R
it wont take months in fact probably only a few days. they are working on songs they did some work on during the backspacer sessions for an EP. Mike said on New Years Day interview that they had 18 songs they were working on for backspacer. 11 are on backspacer the rest they will work on for an EP. From past interviews i believe some of those songs are already recorded maybe just need mixing done and some overdubs.

stormin norman……you are a fucking idiot

  • Ian said:

Unfortunately, PJ has been incessantly dull off since ‘no code’ and there isn’t a whole lot they can do to not be whining vedder rock.

The ‘into the wild’ soundtrack does prove that they can make great music if they go toward their calling, this ‘World Wide Suicide’ write-a-song in 5 minutes sound they got now is terrible. Backspacer had two good songs.

  • Derrick said:

    Ian, you’re wrong.

    fuck off

  • BeforeEyeDie said:

Yeah Ian is way wrong. Yield was the last solid PJ album top to bottom.

I have always found that people that make silly plays on names are generally lacking mentally (“Pearl Necklace”….are we five?)

  • Troy said:

I had heard that satchel was back together with a new album coming out soon also? Is this true?

  • Ben said:

    Yes Troy, Satchel is back.

    Taken from Wikipedia:

“The new line up has recorded an album titled ‘HEARTACHE & HONEY’ to be released early 2010.”

  • Ricsard said:

cool news, can’t wait to hear the new material!

  • Troy said:

I agree the second satchel album is amazing!

Perhaps PJ is working with another drummer on new material, may be dave Abbruzzese…

  • Grunger said:

Dave Abbruzzes is WAY too busy to record anything with Pearl Jam.
Right now Dave A. is on tour with his new band IMF.
I think Matt is still playing drums for PJ.
