WATCH STONE TEMPLE PILOTS “CINNAMON” MUSIC VIDEO

By: 9 February 2012 30 Comments

This is Stone Temple Pilots’ music video for “Cinnamon” off their self-titled album that was released two years ago. A first version of the video was shot in summer 2010 but the band decided they wanted to reshoot it, so in late 2010 they did just that and this is the video. This video was intended for release in early 2011 but the band again weren’t happy with it, and they decided to shelve their Chinese Democracy of music videos. The video remained unreleased until it leaked today. Now we just need the band’s unreleased Shangri LA DEE DA documentary to leak.

I remember one site had a simple puzzle test before you could post.
There was only about 10% who could get it , so the webmaster got rid of it.
He posted that the internet is mostly people that just like busting balls and could care less about the sites they joined. He found banning IPs and other measures worked.

The video seems like an afterthought and they should of picked something else. Some of those old videos they used in the past were perfect for those times. The new album hopefully will have more bite and some videos a lot sooner. LOL

I’ve tried to like this song and the album it’s from but I’m just not feeling it :-( STP had never let me down up until this point and I hope they can get there shit together for the next album. Also it’s no wonder this awful video was shelved, why are the band (and in particular Scott) partying/getting with girls who look young enough to be their daughters?!? It just all looks a bit silly to me…

  • just mike said:

    Wow, that was awful.

  • bmeade said:

Maybe they should go the U2 route like in Beautiful Day. It does seem odd seeing just the band – 40 Somethings – surrounded by girls barely old enough to rent cars or drink. It’s like did the band get together and hire a bunch of call girls bc they think it looks cool? Looks creepy.

  • Philip said:

Yeah it’s an empty video, but so what… don’t watch it. The song is hugely poppy & happy but so what too? It’s still catchy in a summer-fun kinda way. The content on the new album was there- they should have just stuck with Brendan O’Brian producing like the last ones. It was mixed wimpy and as someone else already said, “had no bite.” But in terms of the pop sensibility people attacked on the new record- look how poppy “Tiny Music…” was and that album ruled. Wasn’t it their best selling? Don’t know, but they really locked in on that record…

  • Matt said:

Haven’t listened to this song in a long time. Forgot how shitty it was.

  • CagedTiger said:

I disagree about Tiny Music being poppy, I thought that album was really grungey (Tumble in the rough, Trippin) and actually quite dark in parts too (Adhesive, And so I know)… Infact the only song that screamed radio to me was ‘Lady Picture Show’ but that is a great song and a million times better than ‘Cinammon’. I agree that they should have stuck with Brendan producing but still think the songs from self titled are pretty forgettable, all their other albums still get regular play by me but I find myself skipping through their last album which is definitely a first for me with an STP record.
