Gee, I wonder if this will lead to a sorry political argument where both sides make complete asses of themselves and Brett’s neutral opinion will be dismissed because we know his age…

    (Please don’t let it).

Let this serve as a distraction for all lala haters to enjoy.

Lala is a complete waste of oxygen and if they would stop sucking Billy Corgans cock long enough, they would probably realize there is actually other music out there other than the smashing blumpkins. However, just reading through the thread, they have no knowledge of music whatsoever and probably shouldn’t even be on the site.

    Stop with the trolling please.

  • Magic Mike Mazzarone (author) said:

Besides we all know that Ryan should have been listening to Taylor Momsen through those ear buds instead.

    Fuck Republicans, bro.

  • Shayaan said:

Well I doubt the members of Nirvana are fans of Paul Ryan.

  • GenXLady said:

Maybe liking Nirvana is something both parties can agree upon, since they can’t seem to ever come to a consensus on anything else.

  • Jake said:

I doubt Biden’s even HEARD of Nirvana, talk about out of touch.

  • Barewire said:

Joe Biden isn’t out of touch, he just prefers music from his own youth: ancient Wallachian folk chants
Mitt “Adolf Mittler” Romney has followed his running mate’s cue, and is attempting to identify more with the nation’s youth. He purchased Lady Gaga’s meat suit with the intention of wearing it at all future public appearances, is in talks to star in the remake of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape, and has requested Rihanna’s permission to beat the shit out of her.

  • Dreux said:

And it appears the political debate Nazi Driver predicted is just getting started. And burp, you’re a moron. There’s nothing “overrated” about Nirvana. Calling things “overrated” isn’t really a matter of opinion either. It’s making an observational statement leaning on fact, and I suspect very few people on this site can actually make a good, objective argument against any band covered here.

  • Max said:

I’d be shocked if he’s heard more than Teen Spirit and maybe Come As You Are.

  • Iso said:

Perfectly said- you can bet your sweet asses the members of Nirvana can’t stand the likes of Paul Ryan. I mean look at that douchebag. Droopy eyes, nose like a cock & balls, the ears of Alfred E. Newman, neanderthal forehead/ hairline, to say nothing of his stances. Dick’s a joke, a comic book character, Dan Quayle. And like Sarah Palin before him- won’t get anywhere NEAR the White House.

  • Paul said:

I’m sure Krist hates him, he’s involved with Washington state politics.

  • Matt said:

Iso, your ad hominem attacks are pathetic, and typical of leftist punks. Pitiful.

  • Iso said:

Suck a large gauge cock Matt. Your child Mitt is the specialist in ad hominem attack ads. You’ll see come November who is right and who is gone. Ye, typical Republicunt, god-fearing, 1%-cock-chugging, 1950′s-idolizing Klansman. In the immortal words of Wesley Willis, suck a Swiss hound’s dick. Lick clean the buttplug.

You’re in bed with MAYAN CALENDAR, congratulations.

  • Psujammer said:

    Liberals are fucking stupid

  • Dreux said:

How do you know Matt’s conservative, Iso? He could just despise arrogant liberals AND detest conservatives. Furthermore, since when did Republican become a blanket term for conservative? Your comment is every bit as fucking stupid, insulting, and “American” as anything a conservative would write, and just like one would, I’m sure you feel totally justified and in no way wrong. Congratulations.

  • Philip said:

I got news for you wingnuts, the bands you all come to this site to read about and claim to love – are all liberal progressives.

  • Matt said:

Indeed, I do suck the cock. I whistle ‘Dixie’ while I do.

  • Dreux said:

Not all of them Philip, and not everyone enjoys a band’s work based on their political beliefs. Sometimes they just like the music.

  • Spoonman said:

i like how the author thinks asking politely will make trolls stop. i wish it was that easy

  • Jammin J said:

politics and the people who oh so furiously defend thier party are frustrating. People go as far as hating, actually hating each other over politics. Its idiotic

  • Philip said:

Yes all of them Dreux. Name one that isn’t. For starters, it’s country music, Ted Nugent, and neo-nazi rock for the right. Yes one doesn’t listen to a band based on their politics. But the irony of conservatives being here, or a ‘Paul Ryan loving Nirvana’, is thick as a cinder block.

  • Jammin J said:

Now i know why that SuperSG guy/girl left! I couldnt even tell which Dreux, Mayan, Iso, or anyone else was! bullshit!

  • Sid Viscious said:

I like Ryan more now that I know he is a Nirvana. Hopefully he and Romney will choose “Breed” as their campaign theme song.

  • Dreux said:

Philip, right there you are making a statement about “the music conservatives listen to”, and your choices are quite astonishing. It reminds me of when my conservative friends told me that my liberal friends probably listen to “hippie shit about feeling up nature”. The funny thing is, my conservative friends and my liberal friends liked the same music, as did I (the apolitical one). We listened to Nirvana, Soundgarden, PJ, AiC, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.

And maybe you’re right. Maybe all of those bands are made up of progressive liberals (some are far more apolitical, like Soundgarden and AiC), but the point is that their politics don’t matter. As if their beliefs should make me think less of them, or somehow validate my own because mine aligns with theirs. I love their music, but they’ve got shit laid out before them at this point. Celebrities are the last people to look to for political guidance, and things have changed enough in the time those bands I love so much have been huge, that they really can’t be very much aware of what change has really occurred for people like you and me; only for their perspective. So spare me that bullshit. The fact you actually think ALL conservatives are listening to neo-nazi trash is retarded. And I may not listen to country, but a good chunk of the progressive liberal bands covered here DO listen to it and draw influence from it. So, what point are you trying to make here that isn’t completely laughable? (By the way, I’m not defending conservatives, I just generally hate extremists of any kind).

  • BillyL said:

So, the Republican gets a normal picture with his story, while Obama got a picture where he looked like he just took a dump in his pants. Gee, I wonder why…

  • Tom said:

No you do sound conservative Dreux. You’re most certainly defending them. You’re making out like middle of the road but it’s obvious where you land. Otherwise you wouldn’t have said shit. Paul Ryan IS a douchebag. And him and that foot-in-mouth partner of his, their little tea bagger campaign will go down in flames.

  • Iso said:

Nope, not all far-right folks listen to neo-nazi rock. But ONLY far-right folks do. You can bet yer ass on that one, Drool.

  • Erik said:

    Classic. This is great shit.

  • Dreux said:

Tom, this really isn’t about politics on my end, it’s about the behavior that comes from it, displayed by Philip. Somebody accusing anybody who supports a party opposing their own of being racist, gun crazy, and stupid, is stupid and an asshole. Plain and simple. The fact that you think me replying to that kind of behavior can ONLY mean I’m part of this two-party political charade, being on the side you oppose, is ridiculous. Do you think that if some extremist conservative asswipe came on here and said that ALL liberals are communists, I wouldn’t call them a fucking moron, too? Please. I’m merely speaking from an objective point-of-view without bias towards any particular party, but against idiots making harsh generalizations because they don’t even know how to properly debate and have been spoon-fed their entire caricatured perception of either party. You know “where I land”? Rationality.

  • Dreux said:

By the way, Iso, I knew a real “progressive” guy (and a registered Democrat) who listened to neo-nazi metal because he wanted to be “as open-minded as possible”. You were saying?

  • kurt staley said:

@Tom You’re a moron. Fucking lemmings following O bow to Mao off a fucking cliff with you’re white guilt. More people out of work and on welfare than ever. Just paid $4.19 for gallon of gas!!! It was $2 a gallon 3 years ago.

  • Jammin J said:

no you fool. It was over 5 dollars a gallon in New York 3 years ago. 2 bucks a gallon was pre Bush!

  • Jammin J said:

Do not fuck with Cajuns Iso! CRAZY CAJUNS!

  • Dreux said:

kurt staley, just shut up. I can’t even understand the first part of your comment. Not all liberals are just wrenched with “white guilt”. To say so would be excluding liberal minorities, the same way calling all Republicans racist would be completely dismissing Republican minorities (and yes, kids, those DO exist; most of them trying to open or maintain a business).

  • Psujammer said:

Liberals rather fuck a tree than a heterosexual.

  • Dreux said:

    Great insight there, Psujammer. Idiot.

  • Jammin J said:

politics are fucking stupid. This is a music site!

  • GenXLady said:

I have to say that I agree with Dreux here. I don’t normally like getting into political discussions, and his thread is pretty much why. It’s not bad that people disagree and voice different viewpoints. Last I checked, that is one of the nice things about living in the USA. That is a right we have. Musicians have that right too.

It seems like right wing and left wing extremists, while entitled to their opinions, could work at tolerating their differences better. Or at least work at using more rational language when making points, and allowing others to make their points in general. Or they could just stay pissed off and stay polarized to the left and the right, because that seems to be working so well and all. :-/

  • Zach said:

Screw republicans, I don’t care if he likes Nirvana or not. He’s a politician, so he’s pretty much automatically an asshole. Btw, President Obama has a good taste in music. He likes alot of good old blues. In Feb. he held a concert with Mick Jagger, Warren Haynes, and some other good musicians.

  • Dreux said:

    Robert, you’re a fucking moron.
Jammin J, the guy hasn’t done shit, regardless.

Sorry, False. I’m not a republican either. They’re just as much of scumbags as democrats only in their own ways.

Partisanship is for mindless idiots, like you freedom hating liberals. If I absolutely had to be classified as anything, my views might be considered “libertarian”, however, I’ve been an independent since I was old enough to understand the bullshit our government feeds us, and obviously as long as I’ve been registered to vote.

But thanks anyway. No thanks to the brain dead, freedom hating, anti-American, anti-constitution, liberal tit sucking sheep. Nor all the farm raised (aka ivy league) college graduates who’s brains have been filled to the brim with all the horse shit their liberal professors poured into them.

As far as democracy goes, that’s NOT what the “democratic” party stands for. Maybe a hundred years ago. But today it’s all about socialism and entitlement for the lazy. Revoke our rights, grow gov’t, control everything, and eventually communism.
