MATT CAMERON TALKS THE POSSIBILITY OF A PEARL JAM & SOUNDGARDEN TOUR
WAAF interviewed Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron yesterday and when asked about the possibility of a Pearl Jam/Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog tour, he had this to say:
“After I play like, I don’t know, 2 hours with Soundgarden, my day is done. I think when we did the PJ20 show Chris came out to that and we played some Temple of the Dog stuff and it was awesome. Maybe there might be a one off where that could happen, but I’m not 25 anymore.”
There was recently an article online about how this guy wanted a Pearl Jam/Soundgarden tour to happen, and it was misconstrued by radio DJ’s and other news sites as rumors.

OH MY GOD. Don’t even get me started on how freaking amazing that would be….
You forgot the part where he lretty much confirmed a Jan/February tour.
We already reported that they’d be touring in January.
That was a rumor though.
Just bring back Dave Abbruzzese !
I agree with the Dave A comment… Bring some life back into PJ. Matt is a phenomenal drummer with SG…not nearly as good in PJ.
Just bring back Dave Abbruzzese !
FACT!!!!!! HAHAHA

Chris Cornell: “Wait, Matt isn’t 25 anymore?”
I just pray every day that Matt doesn’t get hurt. He’s single-handedly holding my two favourite bands together haha
I think it is perfectly understandable that Matt is done after 2 hours drumming with SG. It is too much to expect a double concert – nice as it would be.
Well, maybe PJ and SG could do an hour long set each with a 30 min TOTD set to end the show? One can dream, right?
it would be cool…
but, that was just be fucking brutal on cameron. i can’t even imagine. i think the music would suffer for it, too. can you image if soundgarden OPENED for pearl jam? that would be one lame pj set!
well. i bet they will do a one off, for charity somewhere. that setlist would be the best of all fucking time!! Pj….SG…and TOTD??! Fuck thatd be a m a z i n g!
rumor has it, that chris canceled the unplaned TotD reunion to sing on as obamas personal entertainer/jester for when he gests re-elected.

First, at least try to implement some type of grammar into your prose.
Second, we’re too fucking busy talking about music to be lured into a meaningless political discussion just because some little troll is sitting in a high school somewhere surfing the internet on his smartphone rather than listening to his English teacher.

^^^fucking hilarious!^^^
Just add Alice in Chains. That would be amazing!
Yeah, Alice in Chains would be great and all the other grunge bands and make it a grunge festival.
A combined tour of these 2 big bands would simply, kill the drummer…
CHRIS CORNELL GOES : HEY HEY , 1 MINUTE?? 1 MINUTE?? YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME
1 MINUTE??? IM NOT JUSTIN TIMBALAND YOU MOTHER FUCKERS . IVE BEEN AROUND SINCE 1992 WITH PEARL JAM AND SOUNDGARDEN AND YOUR GONNA ONLY GIVE ME 1 MINUTE ON STAGE???
DAMM IT, CHRIS CORNELL PICKS UP THE NEW GREEN DAY CD ( UNO ) AND THROWS INTO MATT CAMERONS DRUM SET
HAHAHA
SG would open for PJ! Not sure about all the cities but last time PJ played Chicago they sold out 2 days at the United Center in a day, which seats 23,500. SG garden played the UIC Pavillion which seats 10,075 with tix available the day of the show.
Id say let Matt do SG and TOTD while Dave does PJ. Not the end of the world is Matt doesnt do all three.
AIC would be amazing for openers!! I would get a limo for this night so no concerns about driving home after having a good time at this show.
As much as it would b great the one thing that crossed my mind was way to much 4 one drummer putting them 2 bands on the same bill is just to much. Besides who would open 4 who personally I much rather see soundgarden end the night.
They better set up the Matt-CAM and record this because for him to drum for both bands the same night will be like an Olympic event….. they might have to take Jimmy Chamberlain as a ‘back up’ (just kidding).
If PJ and SG tour the odds of getting a ticket are so slim that they would have to either soundboard record some shows for us to purchase or create a DVD for us to see. It would just be a major ticket like when U2 and PJ played in Hawaii or NIN and Jane’s played on a joint tour.
The level of Awesome of grungereport.net news blows me away on a regular basis.

If there’s alot of money involved, Ed will make damn sure it happens…
ViVa CAPITALISIM!!!!
I LOVE Matt Cameron. He’s a cool guy and a great drummer. The fact that he has been friends with Pearl Jam for so long and PJ and Soundgarden have such a history together is what makes MC the perfect choice for drumming for PJ. But if they were to ever bring anyone back to PJ it shouldn’t be Dave A. It should be Jack Irons. The PJ ’95 tour was one of the best that they have ever had. Yield and No Code are two of their best albums. And it all has a LOT to do with how well Jack Irons played with PJ. Just my $.02.
