For a moment I thought this was going to be a brand new (acoustic) song from the studio.
Still good to hear! Love the AIC acoustic renditions – would be cool if they release a studio double album.

    Always AIC, great!

epic laugh from Jerry at the end :D

I always liked Jerry’s ‘simple-but’ strong acoustic chords. Take Nutshell for example! 4 chords (the same as Your Decision) but it stirs up my emotions every time I hear it. Of course Layne’s singing in combination with Jerry’s 4-chord harmony is an epic piece of music. The Guild is a perfect guitar for Jerry’s song about ”Layne’s Decision”.

    Great!

Wow, Thank you SO MUCH to whoever participated in putting this together! I for one really appreciate it. Thanks again…

This is so great, even if it is promotional in it’s nature.

Jerry played a Guild in the Unplugged Video. ::: *Oops* – yep they just showed it apparently::: <~~~(typing while listening…)
They really are phenomenal guitars. Expensive – but worth every penny.

Will's harmony here and lead-work is spot-on and lovely.
Jer is masterful in rhythm, it's where his heart lies.

Today is a good day. It's Veteran's Day (honor our soldiers folks…), drinking tea, saw my 21 month-old grandson for 5 hours two nights ago, my daughter is coming home from Warren Wilson @ 3:00pm to have dinner with Mom & catch up on the Sunday night TV Zombie-Fest, I'm off tomorrow & the Steelers are playing the Chiefs on MNF.

Remember folks – in life – it is the little things.
    Easily missed.
If you can afford to send even $5 to the Hurricane victims – do so.
No amount is too small. People still suffer.
If you struggle to survive then take care of your own.

Thanks so much for hooking us up Brett.
    Peace

    Kathy

Anything with Jerry and an acoustic guitar is bound to be awesome! And this doesn’t disappoint! Thanks so much for posting and I hope we get more of this in the future.

Awesome vids! Makes me happy to see them talking music. The fact that William and Jerry are both good guitar players (ok Jerry is one of the best ever) makes me eager to hear what kind of stuff they are working on in the studio for the new album.

Awesome, acoustic versions are great. It’s always cool to see a song stripped down to its bare bones.

Simplicity often overrides complexity, simple chords and sincerity is something that not everyone can do.

I love this song that they performed

i wonder if you’d all be cheering no matter what aic brought. cheer on.
because you have no idea. and never will.
    goodbye now.

  • GenXLady said:

Allie, get a life already. Do you really think your posts full of resentment over what you think happened in the past is some sort of loyalty or tribute to Layne Staley? The guy himself was said to be much more loving and kind than that. How are all of your bitter posts, alluding to some sort of superior knowledge of things, a positive things for Layne’s memory and legacy? Move on already.

  • allie said:

YOU MOVE ON. alice is dead imbecile. wtf do YOU KNOW?
    NOTHING!

willingly board the train with all the other morons ok?

    GET OFF ME!

    The legacy is a LIE!

    you have NO idea.

    ::: alice is dead:::

Yes. Layne Staley passed in 2002. We all know this. Many of us here miss him terribly. But life goes on. He had the original name Alice ‘N Chains. It came from his pet Tarantula spider. There is video evidence of this. He and Jer (and possibly Sean and Mike S.) agreed to use the name Alice In Chains before Columbia signed them. If you honestly think any of us are gonna believe theft/piracy of the band’s name you are trippin girl. Layne shared in the royalties of his band during the time he was alive. If there was a legal dispute about the use of the name I believe we would have heard something about it by now – like say 20 fucking years ago….

::: wtf do YOU KNOW? NOTHING!:::

Then enlighten us allie. Tell your tale. Use cold hard facts please. No alluding to half-truths or talking in cryptic *Only I know the truth* language. You come across as an unhinged rageaholic at the least, or an unmedicated bipolar at the worst. And I say worst because mental illness unchecked is a sad thing which happens daily in this country because mental illness is still considered a scourge. By continually spewing hatred and alluding to some kind of evil plot you know how you come across to me? It’s like you wanted on that tour-bus so bad back in the early 90’s and no-one gave you the time of day and by-god you’re gonna get your revenge somehow…

Try to look at this from a different perspective. Look at yourself from our point of view. Lots of folks still post No Layne – No Alice. Or Will Duvall sucks. They’re allowed. So are you. Arguments start – blaze – then burn out. It is the nature of things. Jer and the guys cannot please everyone honey and they don’t have to even try. But in the last seven years they have (in my opinion) gone above and beyond to gain consent/blessings from their fan populace to continue recording and write new material. Anyone who posted regularly on the AIC message boards in 2006 knows this. It’s the way you go about it, it’s how you present yourself here. If you hate the band so damn much – find a *We-fucking-hate-Alice-In-Chains* message board and fire away. Better yet – start one yourself.

    :::GET OFF ME!:::

Why should she? Why should anyone for that matter? Look allie, your modus operandum is to incessantly troll anyone who opposes you, comments in opposition to your posts, or responds to you in any way whatsoever which in your mind does not agree with your conspiracy theory. Try a little civil behavior. It goes a long way. You choose to continually post your brief but vitriolic diatribes. People who love this band are going to react – and not in a positive way. Period. You get what you give in this life. It’s just that simple.

    Peace

    maybe there is truth.

    many wait.

    ^ Oh for Jesus/Goddess’s sake…
    I give up.

    At least we tried.
