According to Chicago Now, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan attended the 11th annual PAWS Chicago Fur Ball over the weekend and raised 90,000 dollars to save cats and dogs. There was an auction where the winner paid $30,000 for a private 3-song acoustic set from Corgan at his Madame ZuZu’s tea house, where 4 people are allowed to attend. The people who came short on the bidding for the private set received two different packages which brought the total Corgan raised to $90,000. Corgan said that during the private set, “You can ask me anything. I’m probably the only person on the planet who has dated both Jessica Simpson and Courtney Love!” Corgan is a known cat lover, he has talked about his love for his cats in many interviews. PAWS Chicago is the city’s largest No Kill humane organization, focused on implementing solutions to end the killing of homeless pets.
