Director Brett Morgen, who recently directed HBO’s Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane, said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly that Courtney Love will not be involved in the upcoming Kurt Cobain film. Here’s his statement:

“Back in 2007, I had a meeting in L.A. with Courtney Love to discuss my possible involvement in a Kurt Cobain documentary. She had seen my film, The Kid Stays in the Picture, and thought that I had the right vision and passion to bring Kurt’s story to life. Since that time, I have been speaking exclusively with Kurt Cobain’s estate, who have given me their full cooperation in order to make the film. Courtney isn’t currently involved with the project in any capacity. The estate and I will be releasing more information about our plans in the coming weeks. Production on the film will begin in the coming months and we are aiming for a 2014 release.”

Frances Bean is a big disappointment for aproving an unnecessary doc and a bigger one for releasing it on the 20th anniversary of her father’s death. Tasteless, opportunistic and full of shit. She must be spending a fortune on the creation of her sausage lips thou.

Why do some people think this is tasteless?? It was not made yet. Hope that this will be interesting.

It IS tasteless. The director has said that he has to hurry up because they want it ready for the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s death. The doc is a sad excuse to hype his death while they pretend it is to celebrate his talent. The same reason why Tom Grant is publishing a conspiracy book on his death while he pretends it is for justice. Just wait for more quaks and their projects for 2014.

They all want the free publicity death anniversaries bring and cash in, as much as they can. Then they have the guts to say they respect him as an artist… HA!

I get what ur saying about bringing cash in but if you look at the big picture that’s what everything’s about. I hope this movie gets pretty big and turns more people on to good music as oppose to the shit on the radio today. But then again I’m pretty optimistic.

If Kurt Cobain were alive today, he would probably on tons of LSD due to how terrible music has gotten in the last 13 years.

He probably forsaw the amergence of today’s pop stars and said “I’m getting the fuck outta here”……..Bang!

At least this now has a shot at being decent seeing how Courtney is not involved

Do not have to get a relationship between nirvana and commercial. At least nirvana’s way is mre pure than the way ‘for fans’ in my opinion. So we just wait to this movie and say it in 2014. Thats not too late.

I say the director shouldn’t bother making a fill because (see previous post)….

    Seven Ages of Rock (BBC)

All seven worth watching, but specifically for Nirvana/Kurt documented,

Episode 6 “Left of the Dial”

We don’t need another documentary. The music stands testament.
