RNDM RECORDED TWO ALBUMS WORTH OF MATERIAL WHILE MAKING DEBUT ALBUM ‘ACTS’

By: 24 November 2012 6 Comments

SPIN‘s new article on RNDM (featuring Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam, Joseph Arthur, and Richard Stuverud) reveals that the band recorded two albums worth of material while recording their debut album Acts.  The sessions came together pretty spontaneously, with hanging out and jamming leading to recording an album.  Ament tells SPIN, “I remember eating dinner pretty late the night and we were starting to joke around about what the name of the band would be, what we were going to do on tour and the T-shirts we’d design,” says Ament. “By the third day, all of those jokes became sort of serious. We were realizing that, maybe we actually have a record here.”

    Since Backspacer:

Jeff: 2 RNDM releases, one solo album
    Stone: 1 Brad album
Mike: Contributions to Walking Papers, King Animal and movie soundtracks
    Matt: King Animal
Eddie Vedder: Solo album and DVD

The creativity is obviously there. MAKE A PEARL JAM RECORD!!

all the guys in pj have talent no doubt but as a whole unit i feel that they have lost their mojo..the last 2 albums have really been disapointing and eds vocal is getting worse by the day..though i did hear something about ed saying to the crowd on a recent solo show that people pay good money to come see a good show and dont want a guy who cant remember lyrics and stuffs songs up so he is quiting smoking and drinking..so thats a positive lets hope he can keep it up and his voice recovers..after listening to the structure of king animal pj have a lot to do to stop themselves from being labeled as has beens when they release their next project

If you think Ed is gonna give up drinking & smoking, I’ve got a bridge to sell you…
Just stick a fork in them.

I don’t know what y’all are talking about! I just saw EV live early this month and his vocals were FANTASTIC. He sounds great and furthermore, I LOVED the self titled album and Backspacer. They were both natural progressions of their music and represented each member of the band throughout. I’m stoked for their next release and hoping for a 2013 US tour!
