    Actual news about SP this time???

    “News” is sometimes rare on this site. Stories here, especially about SP, are usually just a quote to create controversy.

    The Soundgarden reference made me happy.

    That’s funny about they’ve batl. Maybe? SP can even make a (new) song as good as Soundgarden’s Been Away Too Long? Maybe.

    They did much better with Oceania. Glad they’re back.

    @Scott Mclean,

    hahahahahhahaha. So much denial. Soundgarden’s new album is shit compared to oceania.

    bradley, Oceania is good but let’s not get delusional.

    No delusion here, Oceania is clearly a stronger album than King Animal IMO. I like King Animal but it feels like a first album in 15 years. Oceania IMO is one of the strongest albums in a decade.

    Alternadude, You mean your glad Billy is back with his band for hire teenagers?

  • Chainsgarden said:

    And Oceania is not better than King Animal. Oceania got old after two or three listens. Still feels overproduced and Billys voice over powers the songs like in every teargarden song. Everything was forced and it sounded like they threw it together really fast. It took SG a year and a half to make sure they got it right.

    Well you are entitled to your opinions but I strongly disagree. Everything is perfect about Oceania for me. Texture, emotion, intensity, musicianship, songwriting, production. Loyal to the quality of SP’s past work no doubt here.

    And what you’re saying about the band members shows your ignorance.

    Jeff and Nicole are teens? Hum hum sure.

    Ok the guy on the right looks like he is, you have to admit that. I like SP but still think it sounds too polished. The live version of pinwheels is 100 times better than on the cd. Billy could have played more solo riffs. On this old b-side zero cd I had, there was over an hour of awesome 15 second songs that never got made. I was expecting songs like that on Oceania.

    I can understand but generally the fans wanted that more textured sound. It’s awesome after Zeitgeist.

    Also, you can be reassured, Billy promised a heavier album for the next one that’s said to be soon to come. Yay! :)
