I dunno Trials I think you’re looking into it too hard. I think the thing that’s cool about Mountain Song is that it isn’t as great as Perry Farrell of course but it’s Scott having fun and it sort of sounds cool plus what’s interesting is that it’s from a similar era to STP so they share a lot of the same fans. Kind of a cool homage. Like when Chris Cornell does PJ’s “Better Man”. Also I think it’s cool to see Scott doing his best “Perry” it makes him human. He still worships people and you can definitely tell his little Perry moment was nothing but pure fun.

The guy doesn’t take himself too fucking seriously is what I’m saying. He clearly doesn’t care what people think. Does that sell records or tickets? No. But nonetheless certain people will like it. Certain people won’t.

Oh as for the Crackerman thing I’m not sure if that was a joke or not. Because people started laughing in the crowd but the band looked dead serious while they were playing it. When he explained it was the way that song had originally been written he didn’t laugh either. He said we were the first people to hear it and I totally expected a smile from someone in the band but nobody laughed and neither did Scott. My thinking is that he is perhaps telling the truth and that was sort of like his little homage to the 20th of Core. Obviously Scott wanted to play “Core” the last tour out, he even said so in a couple of interviews. However again I could be retarded I won’t deny that possibility but again he didn’t laugh. Plus I don’t think Scott would fuck with the audience on a night like that you have to be grateful for everyone there. Plus there was no STP chants like on the last tour. He seemed legitimately happy to play their shit which was much different because last time he went out solo that didn’t seem like the case.

I mean ya know whatever the case at least the guy is trying. STP has been sort of stale for about a year and half now. The buzz of the new album wore off and the fans want another one and a new fuckin setlist and a new “real” goddamn tour. None of this fuckin shitty local radio summerfest garbage they always seem to do. And last but not least put some fuckin effort into it boys. At least Scott still gives it some effort and I love it!
