PERRY FARRELL SAYS NEXT JANE’S ADDICITON ALBUM WILL BE BAND’S GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT

By: 27 November 2012 14 Comments

Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell has told Billboard that Jane’s Addiction’s currently in the works fifth studio album could be the band’s greatest achievement.

“The next album is going to be something that the world has never experienced,” he tells Billboard, “I’m building it simultaneously with the live show in mind and it’s just going to be out of sight!”

Farrell also said Jane’s Addiction’s live shows could be 2 and a half hour events, “It’s going to be theatrical and we’re going to take it to another level. I want to really give you a new experience. I want you to feel like you’ve never seen it or experienced anything like it.”

that’s a BOLD statement for a band that has acheived so much, although I don’t believe in that outdoing yourself crap actually that’s the only real trap. Most importantly, as an owner of XXX RITUAL AND NOTHINGS SHOCKING I wait anxiously for the continuation of the bands next endeavor God Bless Guys ~ Always A Fan

I like this news. Now if he could convince faith no more to do an album next year could be the greatest year ever!

2 1/2 hr Janes shows? Count me in! These guys are awesome live, but never play more than 1 1/2 hrs.

It’s very tough to beat “Ritual De Lo Habitual”. That’s just perfect and classic album. It defines a genre in a way that’s impossible to do today.

I wonder what’s on Perry’s mind. After interactive 3D tours, PinkFloyd-esque stage theatrics and three-and-a-half hour shows (courtesy of The Cure, Springsteen and the likes), there really isn’t much left in terms of ‘something the world has never experienced’.

The band has evolved, which is not a bad thing, and this is just Perry being pompous again (not a bad thing, either).

Even if it’s not the band’s greatest achievement, I love that he’s aiming high and believes he can do it.

I hope they really can get it out next year, that’ll be like the shortest gap between Janes albums ever. Also I hope Dave is more prominent in the songs than he was on the last album, he’s a great player but sounded like he was holding back on TGE.

I want to believe. The Great Escape Artist was a good album. Very underrated.

I was sick and missed them for both of the shows for which I had tickets, so I can barely wait until this next project is released and another tour announced. Sick or not, I’ll have someone drag me to the next tour if it kills me. Jane’s owns me.

Perry Farrell talks a lot every time there is a new JA album he keeps talking about how great and revolutionary its going to be.
