FOO FIGHTERS & RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS AMONG TOP GROSSING TOURING ACTS
Forbes has released a new list of the Top 25 highest grossing touring acts from May 2011-May 2012 that includes Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Foo Fighters are #14 on the list grossing 47 million dollars while the Red Hot Chili Peppers are #19 on the list grossing 39 million dollars. The Chili Peppers were forced to postpone many early 2012 tour dates due to Anthony Kiedis getting injured, so the total they gross from the complete I’m With You tour will end up being higher than that.

That picture made my day.
RHCP, really? SO overrated.
RHCP are definitely not overrated, I saw them at Knebworth in June. They create a great atmosphere, got the crowd going fucking nuts, despite us waiting there for longer than 6 hours in the rain, all of their songs sounded amazing live, their jams were definitely on point, and the encore was just fucking incredible. Not to mention the fact that the band is made up of some of the best musicians in the world right now. Also, Californication is a BEAST of an album.
I saw Foo Fighters at Reading about 2 months after, they definitely, in my opinion weren’t as good – but awesome nonetheless (They played, like 8 songs from their debut which I was ecstatic (X-Static) about!
Where is Puscifer? ha. Come on Maynard. Get your priorites straight.
I agree that “Californication” is cool. To me John was THE point of interest in the band. I know Flea is a killer bass player but that won’t make me love the band. Honestly I don’t like Anthony’s voice, a couple of songs it’s ok but I can’t stand it for long. I don’t consider him a good singer at all…
But hey they’re ok I’m just saying: one of the biggest tickets sellers in the world? I don’t get it quite frankly. But that’s just me.
I don’t love RHCP, but I have great respect for the band. They brought a sound to the mainstream that people hadn’t heard before. They’re still pretty damn good live, but I don’t think they make great albums anymore.
I don’t know, John is great, honestly one of the best guitarists alive, but I think their newest album, I’m With You (without John) is better than Stadium Arcadium – I really like Josh’s playing style a lot, he can solo very, very well! Also, I just want John to release more Solo stuff, I loved his newest album haha
And yeah, I can understand why you wouldn’t like Anthony’s voice, but I honestly don’t think the songs would have been as great or popular without him – Give it Away, Suck My kiss, Can’t Stop, Californication – his vocals were key in those songs imo!
About John, I admire not only his guitar skills but his voice also. I think live he sounded way better than Anthony…
And like I said, I like some RHCP songs. Just, after a couple, I get totally annoyed…
I didn’t really like anything since “Californication” either I gotta say.
RHCP can Suck My Ass
although maybe they have enough cash now to buy Anthony a new personality
I agree completely that John is the better singer, there’s no doubt – one listen to any of his solo records and you can hear that! And damn, I’m surprised, I always thought that By The Way was a better album than Californication, but each to his own I guess!
