SOUNDGARDEN’S NEW YORK CLUB SHOW ONLY COSTS 15 DOLLARS PER TICKET
According to Ticketmaster, Soundgarden’s show at Terminal 5 in New York on January 16th only costs 15 dollars per ticket. The band did a fan club presale today but the general onsale is exclusive to American Express cardholders.

Now that the full details are reported… can this end the petty “SELL-OUT” claims in the other article?
^ I second this…People like to over-exaggerate and are quick to talk shit…I would’ve gladly purchased tickets through the FAN CLUB presale if I lived anywhere near NYC haha
With the no-notice-announcement, I was unable to get them today, unfortunately… gonna have my brother try again on Monday with his Amex.
I just can’t see how a band is selling out when they are offering their FANS tickets to see them at $20 a ticket.
Hardcore awesomeness^2
They’re gonna have a hard time finding 3000 people who use American Express!
Soundgarden is doing much better for the fans and rock and roll than the other one that started out their fight with Ticketmaster in the 90′s. Now that band PEARL JAM, is the definite SELLOUT. Vedder especially doesn’t have any ambitions beyond being a clown nowadays and what, he would probably bring his band down with him. The 90′s Pearl Jam is now gone, and today, they’re just the walking dead of the so called grunge movement.
Pjammets took on tickbuck and made ppeeps see howvthey were being fucked.
Soundcarrots is joining with the evil dark side called credit card comp who are evil and killbpoor peepslsa
C’mon, please don’t say that people from these bands don’t use any credit cards at all!
Soundgarden isn’t getting paid for this show from ticket sales, dumbasses. They’re getting paid a lump sum for the show by AmEx. Even if this wasn’t the case, which it is, how do some of you idiots say it’s not a sell-out just because they’re not charging a lot? It is what it is, whether the tickets are $5 or $50. Open your minds.
This is similar to when Pearl Jam played shows for Target & Oracle in that they’re paid by the company, not by ticket sales. Essentially, Soundgarden made a deal with American Express to play this show for a specific price. Am.Ex. then puts the tickets on sale for whatever price they choose. This $15/ticket isn’t going to SG, as they will have already been paid by the credit card company.
Beautifulgarbage:
No offense but you have zero clue what you’re talking about…
It cost $2,500 for a ticket to the PJ Oracle corporate gig, that allowed you into the event which included the PJ show. No way to get in to that show for under $2,500.
The Target corporate gig was ONLY for Target management & suits.
The Soundgarden Amex gig is something Amex oftens does. Amex approaches the bands not vice versa. Amex puts them on for their cardholders as thank yous for being members. They have Amex sponsered shows several times a year.
Also, Soundgarden wasn’t the band to cry & preach about selling out. They don’t care one way or another. That was lame ass EV & company!
Gonna post the user Jack Irons background, as you can see his EV bashing has a root:
For those who have not received this info on Jack Irons (the GrungeReport.net user, not the brilliant drummer):
Jack Irons was once a huge Eddie Vedder fan, some years back he was mocked at a EV solo concert and EV almost made him cry. With his gf attending the show also. I don’t yet know what he did, but I can only imagine for acting in the similar fashion to how you are on this site post this experience.
But now you just want to talk shit about him to make your horrible experience seem less traumatic. Because itablef others think he’s not as great as you once thought he was, when he made you cry then you don’t feel like such a constant momo in front of thousands…
Hence why he makes reaches he chance he gets to in anyway possible put EV down.
Calvin,
You’re a complete imbecile… Nice story, EV must have told you on his smoke break after the first encore. I’ll have to look for the boot of this show! Sounds like an amazing show!
EV & Calvin McLain are CLOWNS!!
I saw Alice in Chains in 1993 for $12.50. Twelve fucking fifty for the original line up.
does anybody know why we can’t talk about the photophantasm photobook at the soundgardenworld website? every time i try to talk about it my posts got edited or deleted, and now my user account was deleted too.
Cesare and Xarion both told me that even though it is an unofficial project, the band and their management were fine with it. All I want to do is talk about it.
Brett maybe you can look into this and figure it out for me? The band has come too far to censor their fans’ concerns and interests. are they not the same band who once proclaimed “People with nothing better to do will probably object to Soundgarden.” And now they censor people. Classic. Please Brett I would love an update on the book. See what you can find out.
“Jack”… It’s ok…. Talk to me. Get that negative energy out.
