SMASHING PUMPKINS FILM SHOW FOR POSSIBLE DVD RELEASE
Crestfallen.com is reporting that at Monday’s Smashing Pumpkins show in Brooklyn, New York Billy Corgan told the crowd that the show was being filmed for a concert DVD. Some fans claimed they thought it was being filmed in 3D. There have been reports of a documentary being shot in the last year or so as well. The Pumpkins’ last documentary/DVD was If All Goes Wrong in 2008, which documented the band’s 2007 residencies in Ashville and San Francisco.

Great news. What ever happen with the Alice In Chains 3D show they filmed?
That picture disturbs me. Have you ever seen a bunch of people look more awkward and uncomfortable in their own skins?
@Corndog
Yes. Plenty of times.
This is great news. We would have a fine sounding version of “The Dream Machine” also!
This tour needs to be immortalized.
Where is creepy Uncle Billy’s right hand is what I wanna know?
It’s his left hand you would want to call “creepy”.
Is he one – Do elaborate. When did you see people who looked more uncomfortable than these guys do? You have me curious now.
Incidentally, my previous comment is not a slight on the Pumpkins. I really like the Pumpkins and have been listening to them since Gish was first released. I’m (seemingly) one of the few people on the planet that thought Zeitgeist was actually pretty damn good.
Oceania though, hmm, it’s a very different animal to Zeitgeist. I’m not overly keen on it, but at the same time i do not actively dislike it. Basically, if one of the songs came on shuffle on my Ipod, i wouldn’t skip it but i wouldn’t go looking for the album to listen to specifically either. For me, there are just no stand out tracks on the album. It’s sort of ‘good’ from start to finish, but never manages to be great. Kind of like Binaural by Pearl Jam.
I was at the show, and just to clarify, it was actually Billy who mentioned from the stage that the show was “being filmed not only in HD, but 3D as well,” so the fans who reported that are correct.
corndog is right… zeitgeist is probably the most under-rated album of the decade.
I enjoyed U23D, which was shown in IMAX back in 2008 or sometime around then. The best part was when they played The Fly and there were graphics overlayed the actual video. That made the 3D more interesting.
