    NIRVANA in present tense.

Ah, these are the good times.

I know it helps make the headline look cool, but this is NOT Nirvana.

  • Brett Buchanan said:

I’m too lazy to make every headline THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF NIRVANA or GROHL, NOVOSELIC, SMEAR & MCCARTNEY. Let’s enjoy being able to have NIRVANA in the headlines for a day or two. Everybody knows that Kurt’s gone and it’s the guys that are still alive and kicking. I think the hype of the NIRVANA name probably has helped them raise money for the cause the show was for as well: Sandy victims.

    Shut up Grohl.

    Well said Brett!

Brett, this is why music is the pop trash it is today. This is what ruined grunge. Your too “lazy”? You give grunge a bad name running the site like this, and tarnish the definition of what “grunge” means/meant. I know you’ve grown up in this shitty reality based tv, TMZ sensationalistic headline reporting, OC fake ass people land. But dont you care about the impression on all the kids that come to this site “learning” about grunge for the first time and don’t know the difference between your complete bullshit and what this music is really about… You would think you would have gotten a healthy ear full of this from your dad – LAME DUDE.

This wasn’t a “Nirvana Reunion”, the only people who have billed it as that is the fucking media, and douche Sir Paul who didn’t even know who Nirvana was.

Get a clue. This was the surviving members of Nirvana playing with Paul to play a brand new song from the SOUND CITY MOVIE SOUNDTRACK – NOT NIRVANA!!! This is NOT a Nirvana song, they did NOT perform as Nirvana, and Krist, Dave, and Pat all say the same thing – “not a Nirvana reunion, just jamming with Paul to make a Sound City Movie Soundtrack collaboration”

    Good job Brett. Thanks.

    Brett,

I know it probably sucks reading trash like Chris J’s post, but there are plenty of us out here that are fully behind you. You are fighting the good fight, and we are all grateful for the effort you put into this site.

I like that everything being called a nirvana reunion I know that anybody who is still left in the rock world today is jealous as fuck the one song they played together is better than soundgardens new album

  • bon3z said:

Chris J. mb STFU u tard? I hope there will be a new Nirvana album with Paul on vocals so your fat ass will explode of butthurt ^_^

  • Abe Froman said:

You’re too lazy to write ‘Dave Grohl & Friends?’
    That’s a cop-out.

These guys will never tour, or release music under the name Nirvana, because Courtney Love will always be involved in the name / music / royalties thanks to the whole LLC arrangement.

In my humble opinion, it seems like a lot of people are desperate for anything new from certain bands (nirvana & mad season being two big ones) that people will take anything they can get. Sad fact is, these bands are gone & never coming back.

I hope Grohl & Novoselic make a ton more music together, Grohl belongs behind the drums, but it won’t be as Nirvana, mark my words.

& as far as being too lazy, you can call a dog a cat, but that doesn’t make it something it’s not.
    Sorry.

  • Dave in NC said:

These people griping over the name “Nirvana” are idiots. What about AC/DC, Van Halen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Metallica, The Germs? Plenty of survivors of bands where members have died are still referred to by their respective names in articles without people throwing a fit.

Honestly, it seems like some people think that the remaining members of Nirvana should be hermetically sealed in a jar and never allowed to enjoy creating and playing music with each other. That’s an attitude that is about the furthest thing from a grunge ethos, BTW.

  • Dave in NC said:

Oh, and I’m aware the lead singer of Van Halen didn’t die before he was replaced, but that proves my point even more.

  • Ross said:

im glad kurt was the one who shot his face off, not dave. im calling it a nirvana reunion. fuck it, kurt destroyed this band..its about damn time dave and krist do something together. and to have sir paul front the band and madison square garden? how cool….

  • Greg d said:

Abe froman it’s actually Frances Bean that has all the licensing rights to Kurts image and music etc… Just a little info on that.

  • Jay said:

Well said Ross. This is a great site and long live Nirvana.

  • Andrew Wilson said:

    Brett, nice job, good explanation.
    Chris J, go Fuck yourself.
