WALKING PAPERS ALREADY RECORDING SECOND ALBUM
Barrett Martin posted this update to Walking Papers’ official Facebook page:
Yes Folks, we’re back in the studio again working on album #2, this time at Seattle’s classic, old-school, Avast Studios. I’ve played on countless recording sessions in these studios going on close to 20 years now, recording everything from Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Tuatara, Barrett Martin Group, and of course the first Walking Papers album. I’ve played on lots of other people’s albums here too, and many good times have been had. I heard Soundgarden play in this exact room not too long ago, and its definitely one of those places where you wish the walls could talk. Or maybe its better if they didn’t. One thing is for certain, some great albums have been made in here, and there is a definite VIBE in the building. Which I have deduced to be the industrial-strength espresso machine which whines all day, and late into the night. Its a kind of ritual you might say, to pause from the music to grind yourself an espresso, and more than once I admit to stopping by the studio when I didn’t have a session just to “say hello” to the crew and grind myself an espresso before I continued on my daily errands. It’s like a pilot’s lounge from the 1960s, so cool. The people, bands, and characters that have congregated around that espresso machine……. Some photos below. *Barrett
