Pearl Jam wished its fans a happy holidays through a posting on its website. A photo (above) of the band in the studio was also included. Here’s what the message said:

2012 has been an amazing year for Team PJ – Europe, Missoula, DeLuna, Midtown, ”99 Problems”,

Jeff’s solo record, RNDM, EV solo, Brad, Po & the 4fathers, “Fat Kid Rules the World”, Soundgarden, our new site….

We’re so glad to have shared it all with you.

As we near 2013, we can’t help but get even more excited about what’s in store for the year ahead.

P.S. Are you a Ten Club member yet, and/or is your membership current?

I bet the Ten Club question is for pre-sale tickets for a 2013 tour…

King Animal is better than Backspacer… Do I really want Matt to return.to PJ? Don’t Get me wrong I Usually prefer PJ to SG.

I agree that King Animal is better than Backspacer. But then again, in my honest and humble opinion, King Animal is better anything that SG has done either sine Badmotorfinger.

That being said, it’s past time for a new PJ album. They need to get crack-a-lacking on that thing.

Matt Cameron is great with Pearl Jam, but his skills as a drummer are much better utilized in Soundgarden’s music than Pearl Jam’s. I like PJ more as a band, but I would prefer Cameron with Soundgarden, does that make sense?

I think Jack Irons was the best drummer for PJ hands down. His work on Yield & No Code is just phenomenal, and much better suited for what they are doing musically. Unfortunately Irons apparently didn’t want the gig.(He walked away as far as I know, but don’t quote me on that, I don’t know the whole story)

@ The Dude, yeah those sort of statements usually precede a tour announcement / fan club opportunity so here’s to hoping for some PJ tour dates.

    Good photo of them.

They mentioned every gig but the Oracle corporate gig… HaHa!!

King Animal is better than anything Pearl Jam has done since Vitalogy.

This picture is just to say, “Here’s proof that we showed up once in the last four years!”

And what sense does it make to say which band you would prefer to see Matt as if it only had to be one way. You get him with both. How sick is that?! He’s the greatest with both of em!

KIng Animal may be better than BackSpacer (I dont think it is, I love Backspacer) but Pearl Jams worst Live show is better than any Sound Garden show just on the fact that they are so unpredictable and the energy and crowd interaction is one of a kind

Jack Irons left because he had anxiety and other issues. Anyone who really knows anything knows that, its such old news. That was such a long time ago, and this is such an old conversation. Move on people! Dave or Jack ain’t comin back!

Mike should have a 59 Strat in his hand..Stone a Gibson Les Paul, and Eddie a Gibson SG..that is how you write a song with this group..3 acoustic guitars???? Not the sound I was hoping for…
