MSG!
So this is going to be a Nirvana reunion AND a Rage Against the Machine reunion?
Hot damn, where do I get my tickets? I hope they play lots of songs from In Utero & Evil Empire!!
So quick with the need for a label – it’s a bunch of awesome people getting together to jam.
Park City though, pretty snoooty. Sundance would be worse.
Why not San Francisco at the Fillmore (please).
@ Christine.
I’m not 100% sure, but I’m guessing Abe Froman was being sarcastic and having a dig at Brett for calling the collaboration a Nirvana reunion rather than what it really is – a collaboration.
“calling the collaboration a Nirvana reunion rather than what it really is – a collaboration.”
You can tell the people you would never be friends with….they never let go of anything.
Go tell the dictionary to redefine “reunion”. Until then, get some counciling and move on with your life.
@ Peace_frog
A reunion is the act of coming together as a unified whole…
so whether you want to call it a Nirvana reunion or a reunion of Dave and Krist or reunion of remaining members or simply a reunion is up to your own interpretation…
personally I don’t see this as a Nirvana reunion unless they intend on playing Nirvana songs or making new music under the Nirvana name. Neither of which have happened so far. I also have not heard of Dave or Krist showing any intention of this or even calling this a Nirvana reunion.
I have no problem if they want to play some Nirvana songs together… that is there choice and I would be happy to listen to it. Infact I would be quite happy to see the remaining members of Nirvana make new music – preferably under a different name but again if they chose to keep the name well that is there choice.
I’ve never been a huge Nirvana fan… yes I enjoy the music every now and then but generally I prefer to listen to other music. This is my opinion… and if everyone where to have the same opinion the world would be a very boring place. Personally I don’t think I need to let go of anything. I have no desire to turn this into an argument – we have differing opinions and so be it.
I have no desire to turn this into and argument either Ben. We have the same name and I love your avatar.I really am pretty sick of hearing about the Nirvana talk. People that are referred to as a “vegetables” might not understand what that reunion was, but normal thinking humans do.Its really not up for interpretation. It was what it was. Thats the only reason I respond to it. I think it’s such a moot point, and I cant believe people will seemingly go to the grave with this as their agenda on a site that has aweful articles on a slow news day, and a lot of bad dialogue (kinda like this.)
I actually think we have a very similar opinion. But I do think you need to let it go. The whole reunion thing is a matter of definition, and nobody will argue over what it represented. Not me at least.
Man I hope Rick Springfield is there. Voice of a generation right there.
