SLASH: ‘SCOTT WEILAND IS TALKING OUT OF HIS ASS, DESERVES TO BE ALONE’
In a recent interview with Classic Rock Magazine former Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash was very vocal in talking about possibly reuniting with former bandmate Scott Weiland by saying “I don’t even want to give him this attention, to tell you the truth. I think at this point Scott just got fired from STP and I think he’s trying to pull off that trick of trying to get something else going on, and we’re not buying it. The door’s shut on this side and it’s probably shut on that side too, so he’s on his own. And he deserves it too.”
The guitar legend also added that “Scott is completely speaking out of his ass [about the VR reunion]. Nobody at this end has had any conversations with Scott on this subject, except maybe Dave Kushner, because he was the only one in the band who was really close to him. And all things considered, we don’t have a good professional relationship with Scott.
“And it also pisses me off because he’s put STP through so much shit over the years, and put us through shit too when we were working with him. In 2008, that was all over with, so at this point, when he starts coming up with this stuff, it’s like, whatever.”
Slash broke last year on a Minnesota radio station that Weiland was fired from Stone Temple Pilots. However, this was neither confirmed or denied by Scott or any of STP’s other band members or management.
Slash is an arrogant fucking piece of shit who can’t get along with anybody. If he wasn’t in bands fronted by Axl or Scott, nobody would care about his lame ass. For a guy who currently tours around with some Scott Stapp xerox as his frontman, he’s got some real nerve speaking about anything on the topic of integrity. VR does nto exist without Scott, nor does STP. Scott would never be fired from STP because he’s the group’s focal point and meal ticket. Scott left Slash’s prima donna bitch ass in the dust in ’08 and Slash has been a whiny little puss about it ever since.
Fuck you, Slash. Go make another shitty solo album with the loser from Alter Creed and shut the fuck up already.

I would like to see a VR reunion, there is only one singer for VR and his name is Scott Weiland.
VR could never find a replacement singer which is why Slash was probably like “screw this” and went back to do his solo stuff. VR auditioned guys like Royston Langdon, Ian Thornely, Corey Taylor, Travis Meeks, even Slash’s guitarist Todd Kerns.
Slash refused Ian Thornley because he would not allow the lead singer to play guitar, it worked out better because Ian went back to Big Wreck.

Sure Scott has put his STP band through and lot and VR too but the first time he was in VR he wasn’t sober. He was rail thin, coming back to STP a few years ago he has cleaned up a lot.
Slash is a dumbass, his first solo album was good because he had some great singers (CC, Ozzy, Lemmy) that basically sold the album for him. Too bad he thinks that hes famous for being an awesome guitarist when No, it was GnR that did it for him, and besides his second solo album sucks and Myles Kennedy, great voice, but terrible for gritty rock. Scott has that signature tone and attitude that just WORKS, i have no idea why Slash would attack him like this, maybe its because noones bought that abysmal “Apocalyptic Listening” album…

It’s ridiculous that he says Dave was the only one in Velvet Revolver that cared about Scott. Duff was very close to home, and even referred to Scott as his brother in his biography

This is just fucking sad, because he’s being really harsh, but he’s also pretty much right. On the flipside, VR’s only true frontman will always be Scott Weiland, no matter what. They just can’t get some young poser guy to stand it because he’s got the “looks and the chops…” Everyone has to remember when VR came out, Scott was in a different place and it was a long time ago, he was the perfect fit at the time, like a modern day Jim Morrison, and Slash wasn’t off doing his cheesy rock solo stuff either. It’s just fucking upsetting…

How about Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck or Eddie Van Halen? All of these guitarists do not sing and have played with a variety of musicians over the years and ended up playing to sold out shows all over the world while doing it.

You know whats really strange these days? The more these alternative rock and hard rock bands like STP AND GNR fall apart and Slash and Scott are showing off their drama in the media and music magazines and online , the more successful todays pop acts like Lady Gaga and country music and hip hop music is becoming, maybe its not really Slash’s fault or Scotts fault at all, instead I think its all an inside record company job

funny thing – Slash plays bigger venues, sells more outside here in Australia than VR. Having a quick look at Wiki, it seems to be the same elsewhere. He needs to work with lead singers who aren’t jealous of him.

I appreciate Grunge Reports willingness to relay the thoughts and opinions not just of the Slashes of this industry, but the fans and professionals out alike. While I just held back about ninety profane words, some made it in bc this is so outrageous to me (and I speak beep proffessionally too I hear). I just wish more of Scott Weiland Band and STP fans would band together (since management is paid to sleep apparently) and just shut this shit down with our own push back and PRAISE where its earned. Let the man do what we love about him.
