Diffuser.fm have up a new clip of Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder discussing the song “Satellite,” which appeared on 2011′s Ukulele Songs. The song appears in the new West Memphis Three documentary ‘West of Memphis’ and is inspired by the case.

“I was just in a far away place and their story came to mind. We were raising funds to get a new investigator onto the case in which we were going to need an initial stipend of 100 grand or something so I was making a lot of phone calls on their behalf. I was playing ukulele and the song really kind of wrote itself. If you listen to the tape, right at the very end, it was pre cell phone it was awhile back. At the very end of the song you can hear the phone ring, and I go over and I pick it up and say hello and it was Lori [Davis, wife of Damian Echols].”
