RUMOR: ALICE IN CHAINS TO TOUR WITH BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE AND HALESTORM
ThePRP.com is reporting that there are rumors that Alice In Chains will tour North America in the coming months with Bullet For My Valentine and Halestorm as support acts. Alice In Chains finished recording their fifth studio album late last year, with the album set for a 2013 release. The band released “Hollow” as the album’s first digital single last month.
Alice In Chains’ last tour was 2010′s BlackDiamondSkye tour with Mastadon and Deftones. Their most recent performance was last May in Los Angeles at the MAP Awards honoring Jerry Cantrell.

Layne is rolling in his grave.
This ain’t good. Somebody prevent this from happening. This line up is screaming to be Nickelbacked.
They’re at download in England this year in June so unless it’s going to be a short tour or they’re going to pop to England in the middle of it
Alice in Chains, please come to Poland, we love u.
Hollow = BGWTB Bside.
I have high hopes for this album.
Please, God, no Bullet for my Valentine…
I Can’t believe it.
Please jerry, Cancel that stupid thing.
Bullt for my valentine?!? What the hell are you thinking?!?
Halestorm is a great opening act for AIC
This is ridiculous!!!
How can you downgrade your supporting acts from Mastodon and Deftones to fucking emo gay bands!!!!!????
Wake up, Jerry…
Layne, forgive your band mates, they do not know what theyr are doing currently…
They can do MUCH better than that. Yikes.
Cantrell does have a history of liking untalented rock bands like nickelback.
Halestorm is far from an emo band. More like cock rock with a chick fronting them – pussy rock, perhaps? Which still makes them a very odd choice for AiC, I’ll grant you. And while Lzzy Hale may be hung up on juvenile, hyper-sexual strutting, she’s also far from untalented. She is THE BEST female vocalist I’ve ever heard. It would be great if she grew up and started writing songs about more than what an awesome fuck she is. Now, Dead Sara… There’s a band that AiC should be looking at. Best new rock band in years.
I saw Halestorm perform two years ago, and while I dislike pretty much all of their studio songs, she puts on an extremely good show. She has excellent range, and they are a very good ‘live’ band. I know nothing about Bullet for my valentine other than they are scenesters who make whiny music, so I can’t really comment on them in terms of live performance. Either way if this is true I hope I can catch them, I’ve never seen Alice live
i agree, how can you come from Deftones and Mastodon to this other two
Alice in Chains used to be a real rock n roll band! This tour will be a disgrace to the name and the original members.
In 2006 they had Hurt opening, in 2007 at The Unplugged Show they had Social Ghost opening, and in 2010 they had Shooter Jennings opening.
All of you seem to forget that the music industry is more controlling and restrictive than ever now and that a band – no matter how successful… are ALL at the mercy of their management, promoters, and the record company that owns their contract. Famous musicians with record company contracts are as *owned* as US Military soldiers who have enlisted for a four year tour. I am serious about this.
It’s all about *Money* people. Cold hard cash.
They go where they’re told, and they go with who they’re told to go with. The only luxury and/or choices they may have are choosing the stuff available in their dressing rooms backstage, and the mode(s) of transportation which are used to transport them between gigs; and even THESE small elements of control have to be wrestled and nailed down to paper in writing by their attorney(s) with the record company in the form of contract *riders*.
Want to blame someone? Contact Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group, or David Benveniste, although I am not sure that he’s still their manager.
Bullet For My Valentine is really successful with the teenagers. They played here at The Orange Peel and they sold out. It’s a business move, a management move to draw larger crowds, to sell more tickets in bigger venues. That’s all this is. I hardly believe that Jerry, Sean, Mike or Will had one word of say in this decision.
:::Sighs::: I have prayed for a very long time that Alice In Chains would come back – would gain great success. And I am happy that they are successful. But the down side is that they are so big now that they will probably never play at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium again. Oh well.
Such is life.
Peace
AIC Forever
Bullcrap… Bullet For My Valentine blows.
Who cares who the opening act is? The main reason of going to the concert is for Alice in Chains. Just come back to Calgary, you haven’t played here in 21 years!
Unaware of these bands, will def check out tho. But can’t wait for these tour dates! As nothing is really lined up yet other then Soundgarden this year and that Sound City ordeal if it goes wider sounds awesome. Still have high hopes for Walking Papers tour again in ’13.
Hope if this is true, they’ll be coming somewhere in Texas… I don’t like those other two bands at all. Wish they would tour with someone else.
Sean Kinney is a bad ass motherfucker.
Mastodon/Deftones to Halestorm/Bullet for my Valentine is so such a huge change. I hope this rumor is false because they are really lowering their standards if this is true.
I have to say that I agree with most of you. AIC should be touring with a “real” metal and/ or harder edge rock band.
BFMV and Halestorm, does indeed attract the younger Emo crowds, even though they themselves aren’t really Emo bands.
And I too really wish that they would do a small venue tour. I hate going to hard rock concerts at big arenas.
By the way, I can’t wait until Brett officially begins his transition to cover more bands. I really want to talk about Three Days Grace. Their singer Adam Gontier just all of a sudden quit the band and it has been total anarchy amongst the fans on the social media.
But anyways, I love AIC no matter what……….
mastAdon? Really?
AIC2 loves to play and good for them, no matter the opening acts.
I went to the BlackDiamondSkye tour date here and was too sick to sit through anything but AIC2. Didn’t hurt my enjoyment!
And hey GwynnKatie, wish you would stop trying to school everybody.
Dead Sara should be touring with Soundgarden or Alice. They would gain A TON of new fans. They’re opening for Muse but I don’t think a lot of Muse fans will “get it”. The more “grunge” crowds would fall in love with Dead Sara.
The first word in the headline is *Rumor*.
laynelivesforever, I wasn’t trying to school anyone. I was merely stating my opinion based on what I know and what I have read. I’m sorry if you felt schooled. I’ll keep it short from now on.
I agree with Raj.
“Who cares who the opening act is?
The main reason of going to the concert is for Alice in Chains.”
Peace
Unless they were touring with a band from the 90s you people would be crying regardless. Halestorms first album was great but I didnt care for their second.
BFMV isnt that bad of a band. They have a few good songs.
I don’t get all the hate for BFMV. They are a really good band. Very heavy. Saw them after their 2nd album came out and they were great. I saw Halestorm open for Staind a few years ago and were very impressed. Hope the rumor is true.
I have my idea s also who Alice in Chains shoul bring to open tour. Be Real its AIC tour not mine I be just as excited an it may give them more stage time. They stillll best folks need let go of past n Accept them for who they are today Love AIC old.present.new if hilly tickets go on sale I there if you wanna birch complain stay the duck home more change i get front seats
