CHRIS CORNELL SAYS NOTHING IS STOPPING SOUNDGARDEN FROM RELEASING MORE ALBUMS

By: 22 January 2013 20 Comments

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell told Billboard.com in a new interview that Soundgarden definitely plan on making more music and touring after the King Animal touring cycle, “I don’t see any reason why not. I think the overall attitude about keeping it going and the way we want to treat it to keep it going is really good. There’s nothing stopping us from continuing to make records and continuing to play shows, that’s for sure.” Cornell added, “Every time we’re in a room we’re coming up with something new,’ though talks of a new album already being in the works is premature.

    I will be the freak that says anything Soundgarden puts out at any time ever under any circumstances will be nurtured as though it were one of my own fucking children… Just sayin’.

    Amen Haley. Those 4 guys were meant to play music together

    Why is the fact that Matt is playing in PJ becoming the elephant in the room? Is it just me?

    Dave Grohl is never in less than about 20 bands. I don’t see why it should be a problem for Cameron to be in two.

    So should Pearl Jam be auditioning a new drummer? How long are we going to pretend that this isn’t the reason behind their next album getting finished and a real American tour?

    @Pingfah
    Grohl never was a part of two active and important bands. It was one or the other.

    Pearl Jam should just disband, it’s at that stage. They’re embarrassing at best now and Matt looks bored to tears playing with them.
    Long live the mighty Soundgarden!!!

    EV is a clown!!

    That is true, although PJ have a pretty long tour/album cycle these days, and I don’t really see Soundgarden being half as active as Pearl Jam even.

    I think they can pull it off.

    To Jack Irons:

    How is Pearl Jam “at that stage” where they should disband? This has gotta be a joke…not sure how a band that is still rocking and kicking ass while the members are about to hit their 50s could be called “embarassing”

  • Pingfah said:

    Just ignore him JamPilot. He’s just a troll, not worth the effort.

    Well yeah sure they could pull it off but I would love for PJ to find a new drummer. I never though Matt was such a right fit with PJ, he is just so much at his place with SG. Also if PJ finds another drummer (Or brings back an ancient), and both band create much new music while they still can, everyone wins IMO.

  • Pingfah said:

    @Is he one?

    Yeah, I also love both bands passionately.

    In my opinion Krusen, Abbruzzee, Irons & Cameron were all wicked drummers who brought something of their own to the mix. PJ have proven that they can work with different drummers, so if Soundgarden could only continue if Cameron left Pearl Jam, I would be OK with that.

    I can’t wait for the next SG album. I believe the band still has some great music to write, even if King Animal failed in most aspects. I hope they don’t tour too long so they can get back to writing/recording soon. The thing that sucks is there will probably be a long break so Matt can do his thing with PJ.

    I totally agree Pingfah, nice discussing with you today. :-D

    Gotcha Pingfah, this is wickedgarden23 from Below Empty by the way. Cheers

    My hope is, just like “Telephantasm” and “Live On I-5″ held us over until “King Animal” was released, Soundgarden will put out their big B-sides collection/ box set to hold us over until the next studio album. That would be nothing short of awesome…

    Nice one guys :)
