Dave giving Neil Peart an award.
    He’ll probably faint.
    Peace

Neil Peart is probably 10 times better as a drummer than Grohl.
    Rush rules.

Why is Dave Grohl inducting Rush? Why not a progressive-rock band that was immensely influenced by Rush, like say, Dream Theater to induct them instead???

Dave Grohl always has his mug everywhere.

Allura, you’re right. A couple of years ago, to me, it seemed like he could do no wrong. He’s a nice guy. He does amazing things. Etc.

It just seems that Dave is a little over exposed these days. It’s getting to be too much. Even in my band we joked about covering a cool song from Prince called Darling Nikki. Then we remembered that Foo covered it. We bailed.

I like this but I’d probably rather have Peter Gabriel dressed as a sunflower or something else, inducting them since Genesis is already in the R&R Hall of Fame.

Neil Peart is a x10 better drummer than almost everybody else, not just Dave. Foos are awesome, Dave is too, but yeah … He’s rather overexposed lately. The stuff he is up to is cool but I’d rather see another Foo Fighters album.

Taylor and Dave make sense- they’ve always acknowledged Rush even when it wasn’t fashionable. Also Rush in 2013 sounds more like the Fooies than DT (speaking as more of a fan of DT than Rush or the Fooies). Still I think maybe the best person would be Billy Corgan cos of his star turn in …Beyond the Lighted Stage and he also has always talked about them. For Rush it is good to be inducted by two high profile drummers acknowledging their debt to Peart

I think they chose Dave and Taylor because they are friends of Rush and also because Foo Fighters is more exposed than Rush now days and that could bring more attention to Rush induction in the RRHoF.

Justin Bieber is more exposed than all these guys combined. So?
Foo Fighters suck ass. Neil Peart’s sister’s autistic kid can probably drum better than both Grohl and Hawkins. That’s how big the difference is.

Rush is so underrated. It’s crazy it took them this long to get into the R&R HOF. I’ve wondered: is it the artist who decides who inducts the bands, or does the HOF decide?

This needed to be said again.

Rush is amazing. With the exception of a couple albums in their (enormous) catalog that were a little softer than I was used to with them, you have to respect them.

They’re how old now, and if you haven’t heard their most recent record Clockwork Angels, it’s fucking badass. Start to finish.

The only other modern TRIO band that I can possibly think of that has the same depth of sound an intensity as Rush has would be King’s X.
