Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl told MTV in a new interview that Foo Fighters have big plans for their next album.
“But we have a plan, we know exactly what’s coming next, and I have the music for the next record and we’re going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff.”
“And we have really awesome, big plans for the next album,” Grohl continued, “and I’m really excited about it.”

ready and waiting
Maybe another double album hopefully
Foo Fighters last album was there best in a while. Hopefully they can top it.
First Album- B+
Color and the shape- A
There is Nothing Left to Lose- B
One by One- C
In your Honor- B-
Echoes silence patience & grace- C+
Wasting Light- A
Echoes is the weakest overall Foo album but has some standout tracks (e.g., Let It Die) …
YES! So excited! Here’s my opinion on album grading:
FF-B
Color and Shape-A
There is Nothing Left to Lose-A
One by One- B+
In Your Honor- B-
ESP&G- A-
Wasting Light- A+
Wasting Light disc 2-Well, okay, Better Off was a decent track. I’m glad it wasn’t on the actual album though. And I gave Rope’s Deadmau5 (did I spell that right?) track a chance. It wasn’t great. Or good. It was pretty bad I think. The only reason these albums are graded so high is because I listen to their albums all the way through a lot and come around to their tracks.
For me it would be:
FF-B
Color and Shape-A
There is Nothing Left to Lose-A+
One by One- B
In Your Honor-A
ESP&G- B-
Wasting Light- C
FF – B+
Color and Shape- A
TINLTL- A+
One By One – B
In Your Honor – A-
ESP&G – C+
Wasting Light – A
And yeah, there was no reason to remix Rope.
FF – B+
Color and Shape- A
TINLTL- B
One By One – C
In Your Honor – B
ESP&G – B-
Wasting Light – B+
Here are the real ratings for Foo Fighters albums:
Foo Fighters: B
The Colour and the Shape: C
There Is Nothing Left to Lose: D
One by One: F
In Your Honor: F
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace: D
Wasting Light: C
Such a downgrad from what came before. How did Dave Grohl go from making amazing music with Nirvana, to starting a band that has made nothing but Nickelback sounding crap???
Clearly @butthead has never heard a foo fighter or nickel back song before. If you can find any comparison between these bands, then u need to actually listen to these bands before u make an uneducated comment like that
Nickelback and Foo Fighters aren’t too far from the tree. Foo Fighters did nothing but popularize simple, bland rock. They put on a great live show but I can’t stand to listen to their albums aside from some very few stand-out tracks.
IMO the best albums the Foo Fighters have put out are the first two. Dave Grohl did not want Learn to Fly to be the first single from TINLTL.
Alot of people though the Foos went too much on the pop side.
Anything after the first two albums, none of the songs have even come anywhere close to what he did before.
The big difference between Nirvana and the Foo Fighters is that the Foos have a much more mainstream radio friendly sound. Nirvana was never a radio friendly band.
Foo Fighters – A
The Colour and The Shape – B+
Nothing Left To Lose – B
One By One – C+
In You Honor – B
Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace – C
Wasting Light – A++
Wasting Light is going to be very, very, very difficult to top. Hope these are really big plans!
Foos first album was fantastic.
Every album since has sounded pretty much the same, IMO.
They’ve had “big plans” for every single release haven’t they?
i read somewhere he wants to record right after the sound city stuff. so grohl is basically giving a big fuck you to John Paul Jones who has been very vocal about being ready to get back to recording with Them Crooked Vultures
Lotta haters on this site.
Foo Fighters – Wasting Light – A
Nirvana – Nevermind – A+
So maybe Foo Fighters can make an A+ album. That means like 5 top 10 songs of the top 10 for the whole year in rock. Maybe they can do it. I’d say The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, and maybe a couple of other bands have done that but I haven’t really decided. I’m not basing it on sales or popularity or anything, just on songwriting and recording of great songs; then of course it helps if there are no bad songs on an album.
I meant they’d have to have 5 of the 10 best rock songs of that year.
Actually, though, I should say that I don’t really care who has the best album or what grade it gets because I care more about them just making the kind of songs they like and doing their best, hopefully some are raw sounding and not overproduced. I really liked the garage recording sound the Foo Fighters gave to Wasting Like. Excellent!
