FOO FIGHTERS BEGIN WORK ON NEW ALBUM

By: 22 February 2013 18 Comments

Dave Grohl alarmed fans four months ago when he announced a Foo Fighters hiatus, but Kerrang! reports that the Foos’ frontman told James Corden at last night’s Brit Awards he would be entering the studio today with the band to begin work on their next album. Unfortunately, Grohl, who kept himself busy during the hiatus by drumming for Queens of the Stone Age and prepping his Sound City documentary, would not elaborate on a possible release date beyond, “Eventually.”

Weren’t they going to go on hiatus in 2010, then made Wasting Light?

    From Nirvana to Foo Fighters…

It is really dramatic and continous moment.
    Still love both bands.

    Sweeeeeeeeet!!!

I bet it will be a collection of radio ready songs that the band will promote for the next two years every opportunity they get.

  • Scott McLean said:

well, i’d say don’t worry too much about getting on the radio, because they will just because they’re the Foo Fighters. Intead, rock like they did last time and even more.

God the Foo Fighters suck balls. Why do they not just break up already? 80 percent of their music is generic pop rock. Hiatus this and hiatus that, what a crock of shit. I do love Dave Grohl though.

Says the guy who uses an overrated burnout guitarist’s album name as his user handle.

The Foo Fighters are one of the biggest, most lucrative rock n’ roll bands in the world. Why the hell would they break up?

  • Jake K. said:

Well the last record was one of their best if not their best so like mentioned above, keep rocking and rock harder on this next one.

Everytime a new Foo record is announced, I miss Nirvana more and more.

  • unglue said:

    why not pop-rock?
    so pop-rock is overrated?

that is really ugly by my thought.

Grohl is unstoppable. He takes a “hiatus” and uses it to do amazing collaboration s and other , then shoots right back into full on Foo Fighters magic. He is a big reason why rock is still awesome

It’s going to be hard to top Wasting Light or their first two albums but I can’t wait to hear it!

I still think the FF first album is the best, I’ll Stick Around, Alone and Easy Target, For All the Cows, This is a Call. Dave played all the instruments on every song except for one.

  • Brett Buchanan said:

First two albums were best, but The Colour and the Shape was the best to me. They’ve never been able to reproduce the massive guitar sound on that album.

  • Butthead said:

Hell, I rather listen to new RHCP then a Foo Fighters album. Dave Grohl needs to throw in the towel already.

  • Curmudgeon said:

I’m sure the album will be good. Wasting light was by far better the the couple before it. Dave even said in an interview that they went away from ‘heavy’ music to do more melodic stuff, and that they’re ready to get back to basics and do heavier stuff again.

And to the people hating on him for making successful music that appeals to a wide variety of people….UR stupid

Nothing beats the first 2 albums.

I liked the 3rd quite a bit as well.

The last one was goodish. I had hoped for it to be heavier.
