What about Jane’s Addiction? Great alternative band! Not really grunge but neither is Smashing Pumpkins.

I think Blind Melon should really be on this list, some other additions should be Meat Puppets and Pixies, though not necessarily grunge they had huge influences on grunge.

I also think that there is no way that Bush, Silverchair, especially Creed should ever make this list.

P.S. I believe SP does belong on this list have you listened to Gish? That album has a huge “grunge” feel to it on many songs.

Why has no one even mentioned that you left out “Incesticide” under the Nirvana studio albums section?

If you’re going to include Porno for Pyros – as someone mentioned above – you might as well include Jane’s Addiction, since that’s the Farrell project that’s actually doing something…or has any capacity to actually do something.

If we’re adding Bush to the list, we might as well throw in Creed and Nickleback.

I would suggest that grunge is more to do with a period in time, somewhat linked to a geographic location, and not so much bands. Just because is sounds a little grungey, doesn’t mean it qualifies as grunge, and bands that were traditionally a part of the grunge scene in the 90s are not necessarily grunge bands any more.
Pearl Jam, for instance, is hardly considered grunge any longer, if it ever was.

Sonic Youth, Dinosaur JR.and Veruca Salt should all def be on the list.

On the fence with Bush, they were kind of an afterthought of the era, probably not grunge. But if you want to add the Pumpkins, then Bush should prob go up there also. Maybe Silverchair too.
